LSU’s offense played without its best player in three games this season as a nagging ankle injury kept Leonard Fournette sidelined.

Now, the same fate has befallen the Tigers’ defense.

Senior linebacker Kendell Beckwith will miss the regular-season finale at Texas A&M this weekend, interim coach Ed Orgeron said during a Monday news conference. Fournette, meanwhile, will be a “game-time” decision yet again, Orgeron said.

Beckwith, who leads LSU with 91 tackles, appeared to suffer a shoulder injury early in the Tigers’ 16-10 loss to Florida last Saturday. The senior is one of five finalists for the Butkus Award, which annually honors the nation’s top linebacker.

Fournette was originally declared out against the Gators but requested to dress out after getting involved in a pre-game scuffle between the teams. He gained just 40 yards on 12 carries and missed the entire fourth quarter.

No. 25 LSU (6-4, 4-3) visits No. 22 Texas A&M (8-3, 4-3) at 7:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.
