Malik Nabers reveals official decision on 2024 season
Malik Nabers combined with Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels to deliver huge numbers for LSU this season. Now, Nabers will join the quarterback in making the leap to the NFL.
On Saturday, the star wide receiver announced his plans to enter the 2024 NFL Draft after back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with the Tigers. He was arguably the top receiver in the nation this fall and set the program’s all-time receiving mark during the ReliaQuest Bowl.
“Tiger Nation (best fans in the world): The moment I stepped foot on that grass in that stadium it was electric,” wrote Nabers on social media. “From screaming my name running onto the field, or when big plays were made, or from storming the field after a big win in the stadium! Y’all already knew I was gonna always be the first person at the student section to get the stadium live. With that being said, I have decided to take the next step in my career and declare for the 2024 NFL Draft. I will truly miss spending that Saturday night within Death Valley where dreams come to die, but mine came true.”

Nabers’ decision was always expected after exiting the ReliaQuest Bowl shortly after setting LSU’s all-time record. Despite missing out on this year’s Biletnikoff Award, Nabers led the country in receiving yards (1,569) and yards per game (120.7) and finished tied for third with 14 receiving touchdowns. Teammate Brian Thomas Jr. led the country with 17 receiving touchdowns.
Nabers departs the program with 189 career catches for 3,003 yards and 21 touchdowns. Along with setting the record for career receiving yardage, his 21 touchdowns are tied with Michael Clayton for 7th in LSU’s all-time record books.
