Mason Taylor, son of Jason Taylor, makes 1st career touchdown catch to give LSU lead over Ole Miss
Mason Taylor made the first of what he hopes to be many touchdown catches for LSU against Ole Miss on Saturday.
The Tigers trailed the Rebels 20-17 six-and-a-half minutes into the 3rd quarter in Baton Rouge. Jayden Daniels, with the Tigers at the Rebels’ 1 yard line, rolled to the right and connected with Taylor in the end zone to put the hosts ahead.

Mason Taylor, of course, is the son of football great Jason Taylor, the 6-time Pro Bowl defender and a Hall of Fame inductee in 2017 after 15 seasons in the NFL. Mason’s uncle, Zach Thomas, was a standout linebacker for 13 seasons with 3 teams, being named to 7 Pro Bowls of his own.
The younger Taylor, a true freshman tight end and a former 3-star recruit out of St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderdale, now has a touchdown on his ledger. Can he and the Tigers see this game to the finish line and deal the Rebels their first loss of the season?
