Maybe it wasn't LSU's fault: Former Tiger QB Brandon Harris struggles in UNC debut
Brandon Harris did not fare well in his first appearance for the Tar Heels.
Harris, who played with the Tigers from 2014-2016, started for UNC today but struggled throughout the game. He went 7-for-16 for 60 yards, 0 TDs, and 2 INTs in today’s season opener against California. He also added just five yards on five carries in today’s action.
Harris was pulled for redshirt freshman Chazz Surratt who played well today. Surratt was 18-for-28 for 161 yards and a TD though the air today while adding 66 yards and a TD on the ground. The Tar Heels ultimately lost to the Golden Bears 35-30 after being outscored 14-6 in the fourth quarter.
Harris appeared in 22 games over three seasons with LSU, but he finished his career there with a 54% completion percentage. He may still get an opportunity with the Tar Heels this season, but his UNC debut is one performance he would like to forget.
