Report: 2 other teams were interested in Jamal Adams before trade to Seahawks
Before the New York Jets traded star S Jamal Adams to the Seattle Seahawks for a king’s ransom in draft picks on Saturday, there were reportedly other interested parties.
Adams, a former LSU sensation, is already one of the best safeties in the NFL, but he was unhappy in New York with the Jets.
Per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, before a deal got done with the Seahawks, the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers were also interested in trading for Adams:
Notes on Jamal Adams/Seahawks, per sources.
Parties involved believed 49ers, Cowboys were both in.
A deal now not stipulation for trade, can extend this year or next.
Draft uncertainty a factor.
All but closes book on Clowney.
Team views Adams as weapon more than safety

The 49ers, Cowboys and Seahawks are all expected to compete for playoff spots in the NFC. With Adams on board, the Seahawks’ chances just improved greatly.
What would the 49ers or Cowboys have offered for Adams? We may never know now.
