Rickie Collins is back on the market. The 4-star quarterback from Baton Rouge has backed off his pledge to Purdue, he announced Monday night via his Twitter account.

All signs point toward Collins pledging to play for his hometown team. Recruiting experts on 247Sports, On3 and Rivals have submitted predictions for Collins to commit to LSU. Collins spent this past weekend at LSU on an unofficial visit. Tigers players have notable taken to social media with a hashtag campaign.

Collins, a Woodlawn standout, is listed at 6-2, 190 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, he’s rated 4-stars, the No. 12 Louisiana product, No. 13 quarterback and No. 177 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023. Collins, an Elite 11 Finals quarterback, has picked up 16 scholarship offers during his recruitment.

Collins committed to the Boilermakers on Oct. 8, 2021. In June, he took official visits to Purdue (June 3) and Florida State (June 10).
