If LSU players didn’t know BYU linebacker Adam Pulsipher before Saturday, they should be aware by the time the teams play on Sept. 2.

In the first half of the Cougars’ game against Portland State, Pulsipher was caught punching an opposing player following a tackle in the middle of the field.

It wasn’t a Haymaker, but it was subtle.

Pulsipher is expected to be a big part of the defense this season, defensive coordinator Ilaisa Tuiaki told the Desert News.

“We need him to win is the bottom line,” Tuiaki said. “He knows the defense enough where he can play those two (inside and outside linebacker) spots. He’ll definitely have some snaps and have a role with the defense. Attitude-wise, he’s awesome. He’s the ultimate team player.”

Pulsipher, a junior, had 16 tackles last season.
