Since coming to the big leagues on June 16, former LSU SS Austin Nola has played well for the Seattle Mariners.

On Friday night, though, he experienced one of the biggest highs of his young career, launching his first MLB home run.

As you can see in the video below, Nola went deep against Houston Astros pitcher Wade Miley in the top of the third inning at Minute Maid Park:

Nola played first base on Friday night for the Mariners. His home run was the only run in Seattle’s 2-1 loss to the Astros.

Nola is currently hitting .385 with one homer and two RBI in his Seattle career. He should continue to get playing time as long as he keeps producing. He started at shortstop for LSU for four years from 2009 to 2012.
