What Tom Herman said about LSU following 45-38 loss to the Tigers
Texas coach Tom Herman has deep ties to the LSU program. He was almost the team’s new coach a few years ago, and he also helped recruit current LSU QB Joe Burrow to Ohio State.
On Saturday night, Burrow and the Tigers came into Austin and beat the Longhorns 45-38, improving to 2-0 on the season.
After the game, Herman spoke with reporters and had some things to say about LSU, specifically about Burrow (via KXAN):
On the play of LSU QB Joe Burrow:
“Just really accurate, really aggressive. I thought he fit some balls into some really tight windows. He’s going to have a heckuva year if he stays healthy.”
On Burrow avoiding pressure and making plays:
“They settled in a little bit on some of our pressures. We had some guys free at times and he got it out a split second before a guy could get there. Major credit to him to have some poise and get throws out.”
On second half effort against LSU’s defense:
“Really proud of our guys. It was 20-7 at halftime. We knew the first half was not indicative of how well we could play. I thought our guys responded. I thought he was a lot more aggressive.”
