Will Wade not happy with timing of LSU’s schedule this week

On Wednesday night, the LSU Tigers will go to Gainesville to play Florida in a game that tips off at 8 p.m. Central time.
Then, on Saturday, the Tigers will host Texas A&M in a game that tips off at 11 a.m. Central time. Considering travel time and time for classes, that doesn’t leave much time for LSU to prepare for the Aggies.
LSU coach Will Wade isn’t happy that this is happening to the Tigers again. In fact, he said on Monday, only 1 other SEC team has even had to do this once this season:
Will Wade is not happy that LSU has to play another 8 p.m. Wednesday (9 EST) road game followed by an 11 a.m. Saturday game.

“The only other team thatโs had this in the league is Auburn and they played 2 home games,” Wade said. “Weโve had 3 out of 4 road games with this same setup and it cuts our guysโ preparation time down. We talk about student-athlete welfare and all that — this is not student-athlete welfare.
“I’m not making excuses. Iโm not a complainer, you guys know that. I donโt make excuses; we didnโt play well the first two times, weโve got to play better this time. But weโre the only team in the league that has to do this and weโve had to do it twice now. Thatโs not how itโs supposed to be. Itโs supposed to be balanced, the schedule’s supposed to be balanced and thatโs not right. It’s not right for our players, either.”
Can the Tigers navigate the schedule and pick up a pair of important wins? We’ll find out starting Wednesday night.
