Miami defenders caught fighting on sidelines by ESPN cameras during Pop-Tarts Bowl

Miami’s defense has not improved in the postseason, just in case anyone was wondering. The Hurricanes are facing Iowa State in the Pop-Tarts Bowl, and that matchup has produced plenty of fireworks offensively.
Already, the Cyclones have scored 28 points against Miami’s defense. Iowa State is only averaging 30.2 points per game this season, and the 4th touchdown of the game was scored with just under 11 minutes remaining… in the first half.
That kind of performance is one fans of the Hurricanes are accustomed to after Miami averaged 23.9 points allowed per game and surrendered 30+ points 5 times. Saturday’s bowl game appears destined to add to that total, and it led to some frustrations on the Hurricane bench.
During one break in the action, ESPN’s cameras caught 2 defenders fighting with at least one punch thrown on the bench. Simeon Barrow and Marquise Lightfoot were the Hurricanes to be mixed up with Lightfoot trying to land a couple of blows on Barrow. Defensive lineman Justin Scott and other personnel tried to separate the two, but it’s not the kind of scene you want to see from teammates in the middle of any game.
We’ll see if the defense can find a stop somewhere, but the Pop-Tarts Bowl is certainly a shootout that could result in an epic final score.
