Tim Tebow just put 1 College Football Playoff team on upset alert Saturday.
Of the Playoff top 4, Georgia plays Mizzou, Alabama plays LSU, Michigan State plays Purdue and Oregon plays Washington.
So, which team is on upset alert? Tebow thinks it’s Michigan State.
“I think it’s Sparty at Purdue,” Tebow said on SportsCenter Saturday morning. “The most top 5 unranked upsets of all time. Sixteen for Purdue in the history of their program. This week, they might make it 17. Listen, we saw what they did a few weeks ago against Iowa. They absolutely thrashed them. Their defense has played well this year at times. Their offense is real spotty. But Coach Brohm is really good at dialing up some plays in big-time games, and that place is going to be rocking. You look at Sparty — 2 of their last 5 weeks have been a top 5 game, and they’ve been really close to letting it slip. Give them a lot of credit — they’re a very good team. But Purdue has been really good in these moments. They’ve been the best all-time beating top 5 teams as an unranked team. Could they make it 17 today?”
Purdue has delivered some of the most memorable upsets in recent history, and they did it again earlier this year against Iowa, too.
Can the Boilermakers shock the world again Saturday against Michigan State? They certainly have been special in prolific upset matchups.
