Paul Finebaum took aim at one of his favorite targets during an ESPN morning show appearance this week.

During a recent episode of “Get Up,” Finebaum was asked about Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh interviewing for an NFL head coaching job. Harbaugh went to Minnesota to interview for the Vikings job on Wednesday, which was college football’s National Signing Day. Harbaugh ultimately informed UM that he was staying with the Wolverines, but Finebaum feels it was still a major misstep for the head coach of the Big Ten champs. Finebaum started his Harbaugh criticism with a zinger right out of the gate.

“Jim Harbaugh could screw up a one-car funeral, and I think he did that (Wednesday),” Finebaum said. “He had everything going for him. He had the best season he’s had at Michigan. He goes to the playoffs and he has a good recruiting year and, in some ways, he throws it all away. I’d used a stronger word, but we’re on morning television.

“And for what? It’s apparent, from listening to the experts, he did not have this job. It doesn’t look like he would’ve gotten the job. He held his school hostage for a month. He promised recruits, ‘You sign with me and I’ll be here.’ … He was MIA on one of the most important days of the year. I think it’s a very terrible look for Jim Harbaugh and Michigan.”

Finebaum reluctantly praised Harbaugh during Michigan’s B1G-winning season, but clearly, the Michigan coach is back on the SEC Network’s host bad side. In other words, nature is healing.
