Chris Lemonis comments on Mississippi State’s win over Texas in the College World Series

Mississippi State began the 2021 College World Series with a thrilling 2-1 win over Texas in a game that featured a World Series record of 33 strikeouts in a single matchup.

Following this result, Mississippi State moves on to face Virginia on Tuesday while Texas faces elimination against Tennessee, that game is also scheduled for Tuesday.

“What a college baseball game,” Chris Lemonis said after the game. “I just walked in. I was telling some of the guys you’re going to look up in a couple of years and see all those guys pitching in the big leagues. Just some special arms, special competitors on both sides. Their guy was phenomenal tonight. I was proud of Will Bednar and Landon Sims, the way they pitched.”
