Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott is one of the most talked about players in sports in 2016.
Not only is he the starting quarterback for the most talked about team in the Dallas Cowboys, but he’s also a rookie who won the job away from Tony Romo, aided in part by Romo’s preseason injury.
And now, Prescott has his first-ever commercial, a co-branded Champs Sports and Adidas spot promoting the Alpha Bounce shoe, according to ESPN’s Darren Rovell.
Mississippi State, of course, has a five-year contract in place with Adidas, and that had to aid the apparel company in locking up Prescott. In the spring of 2014, the Bulldogs and Adidas inked a new deal spanning seven years worth $17.5 million in both product and cash.
Prescott helped take Mississippi State to No. 1 in the country in October of 2014, and MSU’s brand was all over the national scene. The Bulldogs were releasing new Adidas uniform combinations and cleats throughout the season.
The Cowboys selected Prescott with the No. 135 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft never knowing what would transpire this season, and you can bet they’re glad they took a chance on him.
“Go ahead, doubt me,” Prescott declares in the commercial. “I’ll just work harder.”
Prescott is making believers out of everyone this season.
