Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott burst onto the NFL scene last year, leading the Dallas Cowboys to an NFL-best 13-3 record and a playoff berth while claiming Offensive Rookie of the Year honors.
As he prepares for his sophomore campaign, even more will be expected of the talented ex-Bulldog.
According to Star-Telegram.com, veteran TE Jason Witten (a former Tennessee standout) said Prescott has earned a bigger leadership role within the offense and will be expected to take a step forward this season:
“Dak has earned that with what he did as a rookie,” Witten said during a recent charity event. “He understands you have to get back at it. You have to recommit. And establish it again, certainly for a guy in second year. And I have to do it in my 15th year.
“For all us, you try to empower him and help him and he’s done a great job. I can’t say enough great things about how he’s gone about it so far.”
Prescott threw for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns to go with only four interceptions last year. Cowboys players, coaches and fans can’t wait to see what the former fourth-round pick can do this season.
