Mike Leach understands that Georgia QB Stetson Bennett does several things well, but he identified the best trait of them all.

“I think he’s gritty and tough and does a great job leading their offensive unit. I’d probably say leadership ability of what he does best,” Leach said on the SEC coaches media teleconference.

Last week, Leach was seen folding chairs on the sideline after he figured the wide receivers weren’t contributing like they should. He recalled how it unfolded.

“We had a few guys that thought it was more important to be on the sidelines than out on the field,” he said. “… I figured we’d go ahead and get rid of the chairs.”

Mississippi State will take on Georgia at 6 p.m. local time on Saturday night in a game on ESPN.

Georgia has won 3 straight in the series, and Kirby Smart’s team last won in 2020 in a game in Athens.
