Mike Leach’s staff has added a new commitment to Mississippi State’s 2022 recruiting class. Raymond (Mississippi) standout Trent Singleton announced his pledge to the Bulldogs on Sunday.

Singleton honored his late grandmother in his commitment announcement.

“Today is the one-year anniversary of the day that my late grandmother passed on. Before she passed, I told her all of my dreams and aspirations. I find comfort in knowing that she is still with me, and it is during pivotal times like this when I want to commemorate her,” Singleton wrote in a note attached to his Twitter commitment announcement.

A defensive back and quarterback at Raymond, Singleton is rated as a 3-star ATH. Bulldawgs247 indicates that Singleton will be a defensive back for MSU. Singleton’s Hudl highlight tape from his junior season, embedded below, shows him playing both positions.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder is rated the No. 20 recruit in the state of Mississippi on the 247Sports Composite. His recruiting profile shows Mississippi State and 11 other scholarship offers, including Indiana, Louisiana, Memphis, Tulane and UAB.
