Mark Hudspeth was officially been named Mississippi State’s new associate head coach/tight ends coach on Thursday, according to a report from the school’s football website, HailState.com.

Hudspeth, who served as Louisiana-Lafayette’s head coach for the previous seven seasons, is a Louisville, Miss., native.

“Mark brings 25 years of experience as both an assistant coach and head coach to our staff,” Bulldogs head coach Joe Moorhead said. “Having devoted much of his life to football in this state, he will do an outstanding job recruiting and developing our players. We are glad to have him back as a Bulldog.”

Hudspeth previously served as Mississippi State’s passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach under Dan Mullen in 2009 and 2010.

“I am excited to be back in my home state of Mississippi,” Hudspeth said. “I look forward to helping Coach Moorhead realize his vision for our football program. It’s great to be a Bulldog.”

This is a solid pickup for Moorhead and the Bulldogs:
