Mississippi State will have a special patriotic field design as the team takes on visiting No. 1 Georgia for Military Appreciation Night.

Mississippi State showcased the design on Twitter that features the midfield logo adorned with the American flag.

It’ll also be a stripe out at Davis Wade Stadium as Mississippi State attempts to pull off the upset.

Mississippi State most recent edged host Auburn 39-33 last weekend. Mississippi State coach Mike Leach selected his Players of the Game on Twitter and commended the team for the well-earned victory. Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers went 42-for-59 with 357 yards, 3 touchdowns, and 1 interception. Two of Rogers’ touchdowns were thrown to Rara Thomas, who ended up with 6 receptions for 84 yards.

Georgia meanwhile will strive for a 10-0 mark. A key factor for the undefeated record is its outstanding defense which hasn’t given up over 22 points in any SEC game this season. Georgia has also limited opponents to 13 points or few on 6 occasions, in addition to 2 shutouts vs. Samford and Vanderbilt.

Georgia leads the all-time series 19-6 against Mississippi State. Mississippi State’s last victory in the matchup dates back to 2010.
