Mississippi State TE injured, does not return
Mississippi State tight end Gus Walley suffered an undisclosed injury in the second quarter of the Bulldogs’ game with Louisiana Tech, and did not return.
Walley took a hard hit from a Louisiana Tech defender while trying to make a catch in the end zone. He was unable to hold on to the ball, and Mississippi State wound up settling for a field goal.
Gus Walley is out for the rest of the game, we’re told. Darien Hutchinson and freshman Justin Johnson in his place at tight end.

Gus Walley hit hard in the end zone. He’s headed to the locker room. Looked like it could’ve been targeting. Crowd sure wanted it.
