The game between the Minnesota Vikings and the Green Bay Packers took a scary turn on Sunday.

In the 2nd quarter, Vikings cornerback Cam Dantzler was involved in an incident with a teammate while making a tackle.

The head of the former Mississippi State defender hit the right thigh of a fellow Vikings player, and play stopped for several minutes as medical staff tended to a motionless Dantzler.

According to the Vikings, Dantzler sustained a neck injury while also being checked for a concussion. Fortunately, the team posted an update that he had the feeling and full movement in his extremities, being x-rayed at the stadium before being taken to the hospital for precautionary reasons.

Cam Dantzler has full movement of his body and underwent an x-ray at Lambeau Field. Out of caution, he has been transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

Dantzler had been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list by the Vikings on Wednesday, but was removed ahead of Sunday’s game against the Packers. The 3rd-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was a 2nd-team All-SEC pick for Mississippi State in 2018.
