Ray’Darious Jones didn’t need long in the NCAA transfer portal to find his new home. The former LSU cornerback is headed to Mississippi State.

Jones shared the big news on his Twitter account Monday evening, 5 days after it was reported that he had entered his name into the portal.

Jones will be returning to his home state. Out of Horn Lake, Mississippi, Jones joined the Tigers in 2019.

From 2019-21, Jones made 16 appearances for the Tigers off the bench. His only defensive contributions came in the 2021 season when he recorded 9 total tackles and a pass breakup. Jones did not play in 2022 due to academic reasons.

As a recruit, Jones was a 4-star ATH, ranked the No. 16 player in Mississippi on the 247Sports Composite. He had 9 scholarship offers, including MSU, but signed with LSU.
