Apparently, the SEC’s decision to grant immediate eligibility waivers to a few intraconference transfers on Wednesday night extended beyond the gridiron.

Yes, Kentucky QB Joey Gatewood, Tennessee OL Cade Mays and others made headlines, but a key intraconference basketball transfer also got cleared.

Per 247Sports, former Alabama forward Javian Davis is immediately eligible to play at Mississippi State this coming season:

Per Mississippi State sources, the NCAA and SEC ruled that Mississippi State sophomore Javian Davis has been cleared to play immediately this season after transferring from Alabama.

As a freshman at Alabama in 2019-20, Davis appeared in 31 games, making 14 starts. He averaged 6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16.1 minutes per contest.

This year, he’ll be counted on to provide depth alongside Abdul Ado and others in the Mississippi State frontcourt.
