The drama that has been the contract negotiations between former Mississippi State star QB Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys continues as the 2020 season approaches.

Though a long-term deal still isn’t in the works, it seems the 2 sides are coming close to an agreement for 2020.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Prescott is planning to sign a $31.4 million franchise tender by Monday:

As Schefter tweeted, the Cowboys and Prescott have until July 15 to work out a long-term contract. The 2 sides have been far apart in negotiations thus far, it seems, so we’ll see if anything happens.

For now, though, it appears Prescott is close to having a deal in place to get to work with his teammates for this fall.
