Mississippi State now holds a pair of commitments from Florida prospects in the 2021 recruiting cycle as linebacker Timar Rogers joins defensive back Myzel Williams as members of the latest Hail State recruiting class.

The 6-foot-2, 200-pound Deland, Fla., native is rated as a three-star prospect and the No. 83 outside linebacker prospect in the nation for the 2021 recruiting cycle by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

It’s clear new Mississippi State defensive coordinator Zach Arnett is loading up on athletic hybrid defensive back/linebacker prospects to play in his 3-3-5 defense in Starkville as four of the team’s 11 commitments fit the mold of players that could line up all over the unit.

Judging by Rogers’ junior season highlight reel, where he plays on both sides of the ball for Deland High School, Mississippi State is getting a player capable of rushing the passer, helping in coverage, wrapping up ball carriers on the perimeter and even making a play when the ball is in his hands.
