Mississippi State is on the verge of adding two offensive coaches to Zach Arnett’s staff.

John Brice at Football Scoop reports that the Bulldogs are in the process of adding Will Friend as the offensive line coach and bringing in Mike Bobo to be the new offensive coordinator.

Friend, who was Auburn’s offensive line coach in 2021 and 2022, had reportedly agreed to coach at Memphis earlier this year. But many reports, including Brice’s, suggest that he will instead head to Starkville.

Bobo, a former quarterback for Georgia in the 1990s, spent 14 seasons with his alma mater as a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator under Mark Richt. He was a head coach at Colorado State, going 26-35 in five seasons. Bobo has also had stops at South Carolina and Auburn before heading back to Georgia as analyst this past season.
