Eli Drinkwitz showed reporters that he’s well versed on college football memes on Wednesday.

A reporter asked the Missouri head coach where he would be if Bryan Harsin didn’t give him an opportunity and he never got into the college game, to which he replied, “According to the SEC memes I would be a bank president, so I’ll stick with that.”

Drinkwitz is referencing a Tweet from an SEC meme page that said he would be a bank president if he were not coaching.

Drinkwitz has been Missouri’s head coach since 2020. He got his start in the college game at Auburn in 2011 as a running backs coach. After that he was hired by Bryan Harsin at Arkansas State as a running backs coach.

Drinkwitz said Wednesday that he is forever indebted to Harsin for giving him the gig at Arkansas State.
