Eli Drinkwitz spoke with CBS’ Jenny Dell ahead of Missouri’s Week 11 home matchup against Tennessee Saturday afternoon.
The Tigers and Vols are 2 of the top 3 teams in the SEC East this season. Mizzou is looking to bounce back from a well-fought game against No. 2 CFP Georgia last week.
Here’s what Drinkwitz said will be key for the Tigers Saturday:
“We’re not going to be able to get caught up in the scoreboard,” Drinkwitz said. “We’re gonna have to really play physical and be mentally tough. And it’s gonna be 4 quarters of hell to get a win.”
Just after, Mizzou’s head coach confirmed that Luther Burden will play for the Tigers as previously reported. Drinkwitz also addressed what is a bit of a misnomer about Tennessee with last season’s incredible campaign led by Hendon Hooker fresh in the minds of CFB fans.
This is a different, yet still deadly Tennessee squad.
“Their offense gets a lot of credit, but they’ve got one of the best defenses in the country,” Drinkwitz insisted.
