Eli Drinkwitz is 0-2 so far against Tennessee, but that isn’t stopping the Mizzou head coach from taking a couple of jabs at the Volunteers.

Wednesday, Drinkwitz appeared on Jim Rome’s show. Off the bat, he took a shot at Tennessee’s NCAA violations.

“I thought you were going to introduce my record,” Drinkwitz said. “But with the latest allegations against Tennessee, let’s hold up on what my record is because I expect them to vacate some wins and that’s gonna help my record a little bit.”

UT received its Notice of Allegations from the NCAA last week. Drinkwitz referenced Casey Pruitt, the wife of former head coach Jeremy Pruitt, being named in the NOA.

“Me personally, I gotta question my wife’s commitment to winning,” Drinkwitz joked. “I don’t know how much she’s committed if she’s not engaging in some of these things. I didn’t know that was fair play.”

Drinkwitz’s tone shifted a bit, praising Tennessee for taking responsibility.

“It was a little bit surprising to see the in-depth nature of what was going on there, but I am sure glad that Tennessee was taking some ownership of it and we’ll see what the results are,” Drinkwitz added.

Drinkwitz’s Tigers travel to Rocky Top on Nov. 12.
