Eli Drinkwitz and Missouri will play host to Kansas State this week, and the coach is looking for some upgraded play along the offensive line. Specifically at right guard.

Drinkwitz said at his Tuesday press conference that Mizzou has to create competition at the right guard position, which is where Houston transfer Cam’Ron Johnson has started the first 2 games. EJ Ndoma-Ogar is listed as the backup at right guard on the latest depth chart.

Drinkwitz later said that Marcellus Johnson, Logan Reichert, Ndoma-Ogar are among those who will challenge for the right guard spot. He said Reichert performed well in a “young guns” scrimmage on Monday.

Johnson this offseason headed to CoMo where he was reunited with his former position coach, Brandon Jones.

In the backfield, Drinkwitz revealed that the Tigers need to get Nate Peat more involved after he played just 11 snaps last week against Middle Tennessee.

Peat in 2 games has 22 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown. He also has 3 catches for 83 yards and another score.
