Luther Burden III had a great first half against Kansas State with 2 catches for 63 yards and a touchdown, including a 47-yard catch.

Burden and the Tigers led 17-14 at halftime as the 47-yard catch was Burden’s longest of his career.

But a play near the sideline looked like Burden auditioned for an Oscar, as he bumped into a K-State defender, and crumbled to the turf in what appeared to be a Flop of the Year candidate.

He came into this game with 15 catches for 213 yards this season and a TD.

Burden last year saw action in all 13 games and made 10 starts. He finished the season with 45 catches, 375 yards and 5 touchdowns through the air, 88 yards and 2 touchdowns on the ground and a punt-return touchdown.

Burden’s 8 offensive scores (6 receiving, 2 rushing) were the most among true freshmen in the NCAA FBS while his 9 total TDs (6 receiving, 2 rushing, 1 punt return) were second among true freshmen in the SEC behind Ole Miss RB Quinshon Judkins (17).
