Marcus Carroll, Georgia State transfer RB, reportedly commits to SEC program
Marcus Carroll followed in the footsteps of one of his teammates and committed to Missouri on Monday, per On3 Sports’ Pete Nakos.
Carroll is the 2nd former Georgia State player to head to the SEC after Robert Lewis committed to Auburn.
The culture of Missouri stood out to Carroll during the recruiting process. Carroll wants to compete for championships while in Columbia.
“The culture at Missouri is amazing from the players to the coaches to the overall support from the community,” Carroll told On3. “Playing in the SEC has a big impact on this as well. Not only will it be on a top-tier team competing for a championship, but I’ll also be able to showcase my talents against what I think is one of the most competitive conferences in college football right now week-to-week.”
Georgia State transfer running back Marcus Carroll tells @On3sports he's committed to Mizzou.
A first-team All-Sun Belt selection, he ranked No. 6 in NCAA this year with 1,350 rushing yards on 274. Viewed as one of the top backs in the portal.https://t.co/MsbpGLv8Bv pic.twitter.com/6idJhpXSNA

The running back led Georgia State with 1,350 yards rushing this season, which was a career high for him. Carroll also accounted for 13 touchdowns.
The Tigers recently added another transfer commitment. Former Clemson defensive back Toriano Pride Jr. announced his commitment to Eli Drinkwitz on social media on Dec. 6.
Missouri fans will hope that Carroll has a similar impact as Cody Schrader did on the backfield. Schrader walked on to Missouri last season after he spent 2018-2021 at Truman State. Schrader led the Tigers backfield with 1,499 yards rushing.
