Media reacts to Mizzou reportedly firing Barry Odom
Barry Odom has been fired at Missouri, per PowerMizzou’s Gabe DeArmond, after four seasons and a combined record of 25-25.
The Tigers were able to get to 6-6 this season with a regular season finale win over Arkansas, but a bowl ban by the NCAA cut the season short.
Members of the media reacted to Odom’s firing on Saturday morning, in a move that likely was not foreseen in the preseason, but not a huge surprise after the 12 games were played out.
I’ve seen some scuttlebutt about Barry Odom on here. If they let him go, who’s Mizzou going to get? It’s not exactly an attractive job at the moment.

Barry is as quality of a man as you will find. Days like this hurt. https://t.co/dVHkC7J7kK

Gotta think Barry Odom is going to get snatched up pretty quickly by a program looking for help on the defensive side of the ball…

Barry Odom is a good person and a good coach, and I hate to see it end this way. For whatever reason, the team had seemed to wander away from its edge at the end of this season, and the head coach has been held responsible.
I think he’ll be quite successful in CFB from here.

No coach spilled more blood for his program than Barry Odom did for Mizzou. A former Tiger linebacker, GA, support staffer, position coach and coordinator, his alma mater chewed him up and spit him out after four years. Brutal business.https://t.co/Yvhe6bt4L5
