Missouri started Brady Cook at quarterback on Wednesday for the bowl game against Army instead of normal starter Connor Bazelak.

Bazelak dressed for the game, but he’d dealt with an injury for a large portion of the season, so it wasn’t a huge surprise that coach Eli Drinkwitz turned to Cook.

However, it was somewhat surprising on Thursday morning when Bazelak took to Twitter to announce he was entering the NCAA transfer portal:

Mizzou still has plenty of depth in its QB room. Cook figures to return. As does freshman Tyler Macon. Then, the Tigers are bringing in 4-star freshman Sam Horn as part of the 2022 class.

Bazelak threw for 2,540 yards, 16 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2021.
