Tyler Badie has had an impressive start to the 2021 season. The senior running back has been a primary part of Missouri’s offense, and that should continue heading into the rest of the year.

Because of his exceptional play, Badie is now being rewarded by the Tigers.

On Friday, Mizzou announced that Badie will serve as its fourth captain for this week’s game against Tennessee. The Tigers have 3 permanent 2021 captains (redshirt sophomore quarterback Connor Bazelak, redshirt senior offensive lineman Case Cook and junior defensive back Martez Manuel) and rotate in a fourth player every week.

During Missouri’s 2-2 start, Badie has rushed for 417 yards and 5 touchdowns while also notching 20 receptions for 176 yards and 3 touchdowns. He’s scored multiple touchdowns in each of the Tigers’ past 2 games, which included 2 rushing scores in last week’s overtime loss at Boston College.

Badie will aim to keep it going Saturday as Mizzou looks for its first SEC win of the season.

Missouri and Tennessee are set to kick off on Saturday at noon ET on SEC Network.
