Missouri basketball has already added a piece to the 2021-22 roster with a graduate transfer from Green Bay. And it comes after the Tigers lost Xavier Pinson, who entered the NCAA transfer portal after he started all 26 games this past season.

The newcomer is Amari Davis, who comes from Wisconsin-Green Bay is a 6-foot-3 combo guard who averaged 16.5 points per game during his two seasons with the Phoenix. Davis shot north of 80 percent from the free throw line and averaged 4.5 foul shot attempts per game. He also averaged 3.7 rebounds and 1.9 assists while leading Green Bay in minutes at 35.3 per game.

The Green Bay Press Gazette reported that Davis would have been in good position to become UWGB’s all-time leading scorer had he opted to play his final three seasons with the Phoenix. The Ohio native averaged 17.2 points this past season and was a second-team all-conference pick in the Horizon.

Davis’ departure from Green Bay was not a surprise to those close to the program. Davis was recruited to Green Bay by former UWGB coach Linc Darner, the Gazette reported. When Darner was fired in May and replaced by Will Ryan, everyone waited to see if Davis would transfer.
