Mizzou-Nebraska rivalry still alive: Tigers beat out Cornhuskers for tight end prospect
The Missouri Tigers have added an impressive TE prospect to their 2018 class.
Messiah Swinson, a physically impressive 3-star TE out of New York, committed to the Tigers over Nebraska. He made his announcement on Saturday, and Swinson has the physical skills to turn into a special player. Beating out Nebraska for his services also makes this commitment even sweeter.
Swinson is listed as the No. 39 TE for 2018 by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, but it his size that sets him apart from others at the position. Listed at 6-foot-8 and 232 pounds, Swinson is a matchup nightmare for opposing defenses.
Long Island Lutheran Basketball shared Swinson’s decision on Twitter:

His size is comparable to NFL standouts Rob Gronkowski and Jimmy Graham. Time will tell if he has the talent to turn into something special.
Mizzou’s official recruiting page confirmed Swinson’s signing during the early period and welcomed him to the Tigers:
Welcome @Mswinson80 to the family! Messiah stands for everything you look for in a person & football player. He is going to be a special tight end on the field and an even better leader off of it! Messiah, the Mizzou family is ready for you! #NY #ShowMe18 pic.twitter.com/e0JIb2shWx
