Ja’Marion Wayne was a 4-star signee in Mizzou’s highly touted 2022 recruiting class, coming to the Tigers from Ballwin, Missouri, as a wide receiver.
But, it seems he’ll potentially try to earn playing time at a different position during the 2022 campaign, as he’s reportedly switched to defense.
Per St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Dave Matter, Wayne opened fall camp at safety during Monday’s practice:

Wayne was the No. 41 receiver in the class of 2022 and the No. 7 overall recruit from the state of Missouri, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
Will Wayne crack the rotation in the secondary for the Tigers this fall? We’ll see how he performs during the rest of fall camp.
