According to Power Mizzou’s Gabe DeArmond, junior RB Nate Strong has left the team.

Strong reportedly left the team Friday before the season opener against Missouri State.

Although the Tigers have arguably the SEC’s top back in Damarea Crockett, losing a back in the SEC isn’t necessarily good news. Strong had been hampered by a knee injury during fall camp.

He was a key contributor down the stretch last season, and he looked to have a nice future at the position. He scored two TDs in Mizzou’s come-from-behind win against Arkansas.

Strong was suspended indefinitely from the team this spring for a violation of team rules.

The Tigers are 1-1 on the season and face Purdue Saturday.
