Missouri appears to be ending its season in Nashville. And its upcoming bowl matchup may bring back some memories for its fans.

According to Stadium college football reporter Brett McMurphy, the Tigers will take on the Big 12’s Iowa Hawkeyes in the Music City Bowl on Dec. 30 at Nissan Stadium. This is the 1st bowl appearance for Mizzou since 2018.

The 2 teams have met in a bowl setting before: 10 years ago, in fact. The Hawkeyes defeated the Tigers 27-24 in the Insight Bowl in what was the most recent meeting between them. All-time, Mizzou holds a 7-6 edge in the series.

Missouri is 5-5 but has lost its last 2 games. Meanwhile, Iowa is 6-2, dropping its first 2 to Purdue and Northwestern before rattling off 6 wins in a row.

The Hawkeyes are participating in their 8th consecutive bowl. They have won 3 straight postseason appearances, including the Pinstripe Bowl in 2017, the Outback Bowl in 2018 and the Holiday Bowl last season.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm CT on Dec. 30 and will be televised on ESPN.

UPDATE: The SEC has confirmed this news.
