The latest scheduling news out of the Southeastern Conference is interesting on a few levels.

Not only has Missouri agreed to a home-and-home series with San Diego State, it scheduled multiple home-and-home series with the Mountain West Conference program. Outside of Missouri, it’s pretty rare for an SEC program to schedule home-and-home series against non-Power 5 opponents.

The Tigers have set a precedent for this before, as Missouri is opening the 2019 season at Wyoming after hosting the Cowboys last season.

The first game in the new four-game series is set to take place in San Diego during the 2027 season, with the Aztecs making the return trip to Columbia the following season. After a two-year break, Missouri will host the Aztecs before making the return trip to San Diego the following season.

Here is an overview of the home-and-home series:

– Sept. 11, 2027, in San Diego
– Sept. 2, 2028, in Columbia
– Sept. 20, 2031, in Columbia
– Oct. 2, 2032, in San Diego

San Diego State has never played against an SEC opponent but has previously faced Mizzou three times on the gridiron, losing each contest.
