Tyler Badie took a vicious hit in Sunday’s game against the New York Jets, and the Denver Broncos running back and former Missouri star was carted off the field at MetLife Stadium.

The 3rd-year Broncos player was down on the ground for a while as the 2nd quarter of Sunday’s game began after the hit by Jets linebacker Quincy Williams.

According to physical therapist Jeff Mueller, Badie suffered a back injury, and Mueller said that Badie’s latent response was spinal cord related and/or inflammation. There was no official condition reported by the Broncos yet.

Badie fumbled the ball after taking the shot by Williams on a 3rd-down carry, and he was able to walk to the sidelines on his own power. Then Badie started receiving medical attention while on 1 knee.

But after a few minutes, Badie was on the ground fully and a backboard was brought out. Badie was strapped to the board and carted off the field following the end of the 1st quarter.

Badie played at Missouri from 2018-21 and was a 1st-team All-SEC and a 2nd-team All-American selection in 2021.

Badie was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the 6th round of the 2022 NFL Draft, and late in the 2022 season Badie was signed by the Broncos off the Ravens’ practice squad.
