The NCAA Softball Women’s College World Series continues Monday, June 6, and runs through Friday, June 10. Only 4 teams remain in the double-elimination tournament — Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and UCLA.

The Sooners and Cowgirls are undefeated, while Texas and UCLA have both lost 1 game. On Monday, OU is set to play UCLA, and the Bruins would have to beat the Sooners to advance to the final series. Oklahoma only needs 1 win. Likewise, Texas would have to beat Oklahoma State twice to advance to the final series.

The final Women’s College World Series will be played Wednesday, June 8 through Friday, June 10 as necessary.

Sixty four teams entered the tournament which began May 20, 2022, and the Women’s College World Series is set to start on Thursday, June 2, 2022. Thirty-two teams were originally selected on an at-large basis by the Division I Softball Committee. Sixteen teams were seeded and placed at one of the 16 regional sites. The regional site winners advanced to a best-of-3 Super Regionals. The winners of the Super Regionals advanced to the World Series.

Where we currently stand

  • Two additional teams were eliminated Sunday: Florida and Arizona.
  • Oklahoma plays UCLA on Monday. The Sooners are 1 win from reaching the final best-of-3 series for the national title.
  • Oklahoma State plays Texas. The Cowgirls are 1 win from reaching the final best-of-3 series, too.
