Michigan’s poor performance on Saturday against Notre Dame received live criticism from former star Braylon Edwards, who’s an analyst for the Big Ten Network.

Edwards later deleted the tweet, but it was enough to draw a suspension from the network, according to Chris Vannini of The Athletic. The Big Ten Network said Edwards will be suspended indefinitely for violating the network’s social media guidelines. Edwards wrote the tweet during Michigan’s 24-17 loss to Notre Dame.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh responded at his Monday press conference.

“There’s nobody in our program who thinks those things about any player on our team, let alone the two players that he described,” Harbaugh said, according to the Chicago Tribune. “On the other level, it’s disappointing that a member of the Big Ten Network would choose to attack the character of two of our players. That’s disappointing.

“And, I would say that if somebody wants to attack the character of anybody on the ballclub, come after me, not our youngsters.”

Edwards tweeted again on Monday after Harbaugh’s press conference.
