Around noon local time in Omaha, Rocco’s shared an update for its Jello Shot Challenge at the College World Series. Along with that update, the bar promised a special announcement would come 5 hours later.

Well, when the 5 o’clock hour rolled around, Rocco’s shared an updated leaderboard, but put off the special announcement because it had been “absolutely smacked all day.” The bar can thank 2 specific fanbases for that.

Between the noon update and the 5 p.m. update, fans of Arkansas and LSU purchased nearly 6,000 jello shots. At $5 a pop, the 2 SEC fanbases spent nearly $30,000. In 5 hours. The atmosphere inside Charles Schwab Field was already expected to be electric when the Razorbacks met the Tigers for their opening game at the 2025 MCWS, but now? Omaha should be rocking off its hinges all night.

LSU leads the challenge as of 6 p.m. ET on Saturday. Here’s the most recent leaderboard update:

LSU was also the official Day 1 leader with 4,410 purchased on Friday. Tiger fans hold the all-time record in the competition, which was set back in 2023 when the Tigers won the national title and fans purchased 68,888 shots. Tennessee and Texas A&M fans combined for just over 70,000 shots last year. Ole Miss in 2022 has been the only other fanbase to top 10,000 during a single CWS.

LSU fans might cross that threshold by the end of the day. Arkansas could be there by the end of the weekend.

Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina has become a fixture at the CWS in recent years. The challenge officially began in 2019 but its roots trace back to 2011 when Florida and South Carolina fans flocked to the bar.
