The SEC was widely regarded as the nation’s best college baseball conference during the 2025 regular season.
The league’s overall strength led to a staggering 13 bids for SEC teams in this year’s NCAA Tournament. However, after the Regional round was completed on Monday, just 4 teams remain from the original group of participants.
It was a disappointing week for the SEC, as 4 hosts failed to win their own regional. The list of teams going home early includes Vanderbilt and Texas, which were awarded the top-overall seeds by the selection committee entering the NCAA Tournament. Georgia and Ole Miss were the other two hosts who failed to reach a Super Regional.
Alabama, Mississippi State, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Florida also were ousted from their respective regionals.
The only SEC teams with a chance to get to Omaha are Tennessee, Auburn, Arkansas and LSU. Of that group, Auburn, Arkansas and LSU will all be hosting. Tennessee will travel to the Fayetteville Super Regional. That means a maximum of 3 SEC teams will be able to reach the College World Series this season.
Over at BetMGM, LSU (+320) is currently the betting favorite to win the College World Series. Arkansas isn’t far behind at +375. Tennessee is tied for 3rd in the odds at +600 while Auburn is down at +1000.
