Jay Johnson wants to make sure Alex Box Stadium is rocking this weekend.

The LSU baseball coach is paying for all student tickets for the Baton Rouge Regional. The Painted Posse revealed the news on social media, sharing an email from the LSU Athletic Ticket Office informing them that Johnson is picking up the tab on student ticket orders.

Johnson knows the importance of having an electric environment at The Box. The Tigers enter the NCAA Tournament 43-14 overall, posting a 30-5 mark at home compared to 8-8 in true road games.

LSU last played at home May 9-11, taking 2 of 3 from rival Arkansas. The Tigers won a 5-4 thriller in extra innings to take the opener and then run-ruled the Razorbacks 13-3 to clinch the series. Arkansas avoided the sweep, winning 7-4 in the finale.

Since the Arkansas series, LSU is 3-2 away from home. Facing Paul Mainieri’s South Carolina team, the Tigers took 2 of 3 in Columbia. They then went 1-1 in the SEC Tournament, defeating Texas A&M and falling to Ole Miss.

LSU is the No. 6 national seed in the NCAA Tournament. The Baton Rouge Regional begins Friday with LSU facing Little Rock in the 1-seed vs. 4-seed matchup at 3 p.m. ET. Depending on outcomes, the Tigers will face either 2-seed Dallas Baptist or 3-seed Rhode Island in their second game.
