5 SEC standouts expected to go in Round 1 of CBS Sports’ latest 2022 NBA Mock Draft

The 2022 NBA Draft will take place on June 23 in Brooklyn, and there are plenty of intriguing SEC prospects in the Round 1 mix.

Auburn’s Jabari Smith Jr. is still in the running for the No. 1 overall pick, while Tari Eason, TyTy Washington and Kennedy Chandler could all be lottery picks.

On Wednesday, CBS Sports analyst Kyle Boone updated his mock draft, and he had 5 SEC stars going in Round 1, led by Smith at No. 3:

• No. 3 — Jabari Smith Jr., F, Auburn — Detroit Pistons
• No. 6 — TyTy Washington, G, Kentucky — Portland Trail Blazers
• No. 15 — Tari Eason, F, LSU — Charlotte Hornets
• No. 23 — Kennedy Chandler, G, Tennessee — Brooklyn Nets
• No. 29 — Walker Kessler, C, Auburn — Memphis Grizzlies
