Igor Milicic is an important part of a Tennessee team that looks as good as any team in the country. The Volunteers are currently the No. 4 in the country, and are in prime position to go and get a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament.
A huge reason why Rick Barnes’ team is having this great of a season is because of the strong play from Milicic. He is currently 4th on the team with 10.2 PPG, while also leading the team in rebounding with 7.5 RPG. He missed Tuesday’s practice due to an illness, but it appears like he will be ready to go on Wednesday night as the Volunteers are on the road against the Ole Miss Rebels.
The Volunteers are playing as well as any team in the SEC. After losing at home to Kentucky, Tennessee had lost 3 out of 4 games. Since then, the Volunteers have won 7 of their last 8 games, with the lone loss being another loss to Mark Pope’s team.
In its most recent win, Tennessee defeated Alabama in 1 of the best games of the college basketball season. This is the second to last game for Tennessee in the regular season, with the regular-season finale being against South Carolina.
Tipoff between the Volunteers and Rebels is 9 p.m. ET.
